How We Help

SAMHSA's working definition of recovery defines recovery as a process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live self-directed lives, and strive to reach their full potential. Recovery signals a dramatic shift in the expectation for positive outcomes for individuals who experience mental and substance use conditions or the co-occurring of the two. Peer support specialists and clinicians work collaboratively to enhance the recovery process, each bringing unique strengths to the support system. Clinicians provide professional expertise, clinical assessments, and evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring that clients receive comprehensive care. Meanwhile, peer support specialists draw from their personal experiences to foster trust and empathy, creating a relatable connection that encourages open communication. Together, they address both the clinical and emotional aspects of recovery. Clinicians can offer therapeutic interventions, while peer specialists provide ongoing emotional support, practical coping strategies, and encouragement. This integrated approach not only empowers clients to take an active role in their recovery but also helps them build a supportive community, significantly improving their chances of sustained well-being and resilience in the face of challenges.

Multiple Pathways to Recovery

Every person is different and as such everyone’s recovery is different, too.
It is important to recognize that there is not just one pathway to recovery. The uniting purpose of any pathway to recovery is to heal the mind and body from substance use and have the freedom to live your life to the fullest.
Recovery is a highly personal process and it can occur via many pathways. Pathways may include clinical treatment, faith-based approaches, medications, peer support, family support, self-care, and/or holistic practices to heal the body and the mind.
Asking for help is the first step in a lifelong journey of healing physically, and growing mentally, emotionally, and spiritually from substance use disorder. Any pathway that works for you can offer a healthier and more productive life.

Specialized In-house Programming

Empowering recovery through lived experience at Ascend Recovery Solutions We believe that the most effective path to healing is one guided by those who have walked it. Our specialized in-house curriculums, Encouraging Wellness and Lessons EARNED, are crafted by individuals with lived experience to embody a strength-based approach to wellness & recovery. By simplifying complex concepts into actionable steps, we foster an inclusive environment where every individual belongs. Whether you are exploring clinical treatment, peer support, or holistic practices, our programs are designed to support you reaching your full potential and live a self-directed life.
Trauma Informed practices are at the core of our programmatic design, acknowledging the widespread impact of trauma with a focus on creating physically and psychologically safe, trustworthy environments that reduce the likeliness of re-traumatization.
Encouraging Wellness™
Lessons E.A.R.N.E.D.™
Encouraging Wellness™ is an is an 8-week intensive & specialized personal development curriculum designed for individuals from a diverse variety of social backgrounds. This program utilizes a Constructivist methodology, viewing participants not as "broken" vessels, but as architects of their own stability. Over the course of eight weeks, participants are equipped with a "psychological toolkit" derived from 5 evidence-based models with the core objective facilitating a cognitive shift from a "Crisis/Survival" mindset to an "Intentional/Balanced" lifestyle.
Lessons Earned™ is an intensive reentry curriculum designed to facilitate Secondary Desistance—the permanent identity shift from "offender" to "Peer Leader". Unlike traditional corrections models that focus on risk management and deficits, this program operates on the core belief that an individual’s survival history is not a liability, but a unique "credential" for future leadership. Grounded in Desistance Theory and narrative reframing, the course guides participants to rewrite their internal "Condemnation Script" into a "Redemption Script". Over the course of eight weeks, participants master the EARNED framework:

Restorative Justice Recovery Group

The Restorative Justice Recovery Group is a structured program designed to help participants build self-awareness, accountability, and emotional intelligence. The group integrates restorative justice practices with personal recovery work to address patterns of harm, trauma, and unhealthy behavior. Participants develop healthy communication skills, explore the impact of their actions, and learn tools to break cycles of self-destructive choices. Through guided reflection, empathy-building exercises, and peer support, the program creates a brave space for healing, growth, and lasting transformation.
